The Empathy Journal
Remember when you were a kid and you got your very first “diary”? You probably were religious about telling it all about the deep dark secrets, crushes and questions that you had about life. It is so natural for children to write their thoughts down in a journal. However as an adult it can be much harder to freely express ourselves either out loud or on paper. Does this sound like you? Are you looking for a journal that is going to give you some guidance to get going – but space to free write as well? Have you tried to get started with journaling, but can’t quite seem to figure out what to write? Do you need encouragement throughout the processing of hard topics? Often times, in therapy, I hear clients state that they don’t journal because they don’t know what to write, or how to get started.
So, I created the Empathy Journal as a solution! This product is an extension of the Simple Empathy practice with over 25 different empathy prompts and quotes to help bring you dig a little deeper into greater empathy for yourself and a better sense of self worth. We encourage you to try and do a little bit everyday. You don’t have to use a prompt each time, sometimes it is good to just make a list or to engage in some expressive doodling. Whatever feels good for you in that moment is completely allowed! This is your space to do what you need to – just remember to have empathy while you’re writing. Empathy for yourself, empathy for others and empathy for the world.
